It seems like things move so quickly nowadays. Whether you are looking at technology, the news, or even party supplies, there is always something new no matter where you look. It can be overwhelming at times.

When my wife and I are getting ready for a party there are times that we will have seen a pattern that seemed perfect, but by the time we go to buy the pattern it is already old news and another pattern has taken its place. If you see something you like you should get it as soon as possible or try to time your purchase right to make sure you don’t miss out on the supplies you really want.

Sometimes it can be nice to see all of the new stuff that has taken the place of the party supplies that you originally wanted. With new patterns coming out, new opportunities present themselves. Be sure to keep up with all of the party supplies that come out, as well as with all of the holidays that are coming up so you can celebrate life one day at a time.

Parties Suffering from Last Minute Rain Outs!

There is very few things in this world that are more sad than a party that is beautifully set up outside, but is forced inside due to rain. I know that there are a great many things that are more sad than this; I was just trying to add some drama to this post. Anyway.  No matter how much we prepare or schedule, the weather doesn’t always see our save the date and remember to change its course on the day of our celebration.

Any time you throw an outdoor party, you need to remember to have an indoor backup plan in place in case the weather decides to become uncooperative. Not every house can be prepared for such a situation that is why you may even want to ask a friend or family member to have his or her home ready in case the party needs to move. Weather is one of the most difficult things for which to plan when preparing any kind of special occasion. For this reason a back up plan is always necessary. While we haven’t needed to resort to such a method yet. My wife and I at least had a friend who had been invited to the party and was willing to make his house a secondary party base in case of rain. Luckily we didn’t need to move indoors, but it was nice to know that the option was there.

Of course if you live somewhere where rain is as rare as leprechauns you may not need to make an secondary plan, but for most people if rain can be a problem, it will be. I live in Chicago, the land of random rain, and this type of plan always needs to be in place for us when we want to do an outdoor celebration.

If you do decide to make a backup plan, make sure you don’t use all of your resources on decorations and supplies for outside. Instead, split the budget to allow for in and outdoor party accommodation. Start getting ready for your party today and find out how you can make your celebration great this year.

Why Are Spots Called Stripes?

I was trying to get ready for a party recently for one of the people that goes to my church. His birthday was coming up and my wife and me were trying to get some supplies together to throw him a little party. He is turning 21. While looking to see what kind of pattern to get for him we ran across a series of patterns that had the word “Stripes” attributed to them. Now, this made sense for the most part as the majority of the pattern featured stripes in some way or another, but when I got to the napkins and some of the other popular supplies for the pattern, there were spots. For Birthday Stripes party supplies, I thought that a very odd combination.

Now it seems funny that a pattern called stripes would feature spots, so I called to check if that is the way it was, and indeed the stripes pattern features spot covered items. It is apparently a common question because they knew exactly what I was asking before the question even got out of my mouth.

We ended up getting the pattern and it looked great. Isn’t it weird how a name can get you so flustered? If the pattern would have been called “stripes and spots” I wouldn’t have had a problem, yet without the word “spots” the whole pattern looks confusing and awkward. The pattern comes with all sorts of tableware along with balloons, yard signs, and much more so you can really make the party look great. We got just about everything included in the pattern, along with some other party supplies…just because.

I recommend the pattern and since the pattern comes with age specific and general napkins, signs, and other supplies you are sure to get all of the supplies that you need to make your party look great this year.

Summer Outdoor Fun

- Posted on July 10, 2010

The 4th of July, to most people, is the ultimate time of grilling, family togetherness….and blowing stuff up. But, with the exception of fireworks and what not, the entire summer is a time to be grilling outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Whether you decide to throw a random party just to celebrate anything, or you decide to have a birthday or other celebratory event outside, the warm weather is ideal for all of your party needs.

It is so sad nowadays that most kids are glued to video game systems indoors and outdoors. The saddest thing is that a lot of the most popular games played by kids are all about playing outdoor and doing other physical activities. While I applaud the efforts of game system and game creators to get kids to be more active it is still sad that many kids nowadays don’t experience the same type of excitement in the outdoors as in kids in the past.

Counteract this sad reality by having an outdoor party with games and activities of all kinds. Invite a couple of families over and take advantage of a big yard or park to play physical games that can be put together in a tournament type of event. Besides being able to create fun and crazy obstacle courses on your own, you can get tons of pre built party games of all kinds that are easy to use and are great for children and adults alike.

There are tons of great ways to celebrate life during the summer. Start finding a way to make your summer a party.

4th of July Party Tomorrow

Wow! I can’t believe it is already here. My wife and I got all of the food, and we are having some people over to have a fun 4th of July party tomorrow. We got some traditional favorites like hamburgers and hotdogs, and we also got some brats for the occasion. I can’t wait to start up that grill and get everything going.

The 4th is more than just decorations and good food. It is really a day to be thankful and to realize all we have as Americans. My wife an I don’t go crazy buying patriotic party decorations for around the house, but we did buy a few party supplies just to make things look a little more festive than usual. My wife bought a few American flag beverage napkins along with some paper plates that will make the meal festive and help us during clean up.

One of our favorite times of the 4th of July is to go to Indiana and watch all of the fireworks over the lake at my grandparents camper at Jellystone Park. There are fireworks all over the area and with how high they are on the lake you get a great view of all of the celebrations going on in the area. You should check it out sometime to see some of the fun patriotic activities they have going on over there. This year we are staying at our house, but we love to camp on the 4th and take in nature…or at least, more nature than we usually get to take in.

Whatever family traditions you have, make sure to have a great time this 4th of July with some family and friends. Happy 4th of July!
