Everyday it just amazes me how quickly the year is moving. It seems like yesterday I was shoveling the driveway the day after New Year, and now the 4th of July is coming up in a week or so. The 4th of July for me and my family is a time to have some fun, barbecue, and revel in thanks for being a part of a country that gives me the freedom that it does.

I see a lot of people that go all out for their 4th of July party with tableware, wall decorations, and everything in between, but I prefer to take things a little easier and to relax rather than shelling out a ton of money for decorations, supplies, and accessories, that I will only use once…unless I am smart and save some for next year. I can’t believe it has been 11 years since the last Toy Story movie. Pixar is just incredible for being able to come out with a new concept to take the movie to new, fun, and entertaining places. Along with the new movie comes hundreds if not thousands of kids that want a Toy Story birthday. Let me just start by saying that I am not much of a sports guy. I played soccer, basketball, and baseball all through high school, but I do not have much will or stamina to sit through a game that is on T.V.. I do, however, have many friends that love sports and since I have a fairly large T.V. and the room for people to move around without being cramped, my house ends up being the landing ground for the big games.

I know you are thinking, “If you don’t like games, how can you stand to have them on at your home?” All I can say is, I love to have friends over to share conversations and experience life in great moments. While I don’t typically just sit down to watch the game, I do get into a game if everyone else is bringing the intense atmosphere that is so automatic when everyone’s hearts and minds get centered on a team, and they are all sharing in a moment of joy (or sorrow depending on the team) together. My wife watches with me sometime, but she usually crafts with some of the other guys wives while we watch the game in the basement. We don’t have people over for games very often, but every once in a while we do.

My friends and I watched the games that have been played so far for the World Cup, with great excitement. You can get a full World Cup schedule official FIFA website. While watching the games, my friends bring international flags and other sports party accessories to cheer on their favorite team. I know a lot of rowdy (but wonderful) people.
