The end of a summer is a bummer in my house. Our family does a lot together over the weeks of summer. Since I am a teacher I have been lucky enough to be off when the kids are off and we spend our time taking road trips, hitting the nearby pool, and just enjoying each other’s company. It may just be August in everyone else’s world but in the world of teachers this is the month that school really begins. There’s not a party that I will miss if I know about it ahead of time. I love a party and my friends and family know who to invite when they really want to get an event off the ground. My daughter is going to be thirteen next month. I have no idea where the time went and I can’t believe I’m suddenly the mother of a teenager when I still feel every bit the teenager myself.
