I work for a nonprofit organization that helps families in need right here in our community. I love my work; every day is different and I am charged with finding new and creative ways to fund our very important mission. When most of us think of baby showers we think of spring; a time when the buds are on the trees and flowers are beginning to peek out of the earth after their long winter break. I have been – in years’ past – a monster failure at Valentine’s Day. I always wait until the last minute and wind up with the dregs of the leftover Valentine’s Day cards, mismatched flowers, and the last box of candy. Having lived in a close-knit community for over fifteen years I have become involved in many ways in putting together activities for our children and hosting parties and other gatherings for the adults.
