Last weekend my husband and I hosted our second annual family summer picnic/barbeque. We both have rather large families so we get a good turnout. We also invite close friends and neighbors so that adds to the list as well. Last year we had about 70 people. This year we had close to 90. Both years have been great successes. I love barbeques and picnics more than anything. They are inherently fun and relaxed. The kids play games and the adults get to sit back and relax in comfortable shorts and t-shirts whilst enjoying the beautiful sunny day, great food, and good drink. So many family get-togethers occur in the winter and early spring because that’s when the holidays come around. My husband and I started this summer picnic as a way to bring the family together in the non-holiday season.
Last year, I just used basic party supplies meaning I went to the local grocery store and picked up plain old white paper plates and cups and napkins. These are functional and work fine, but they didn’t look so nice. I think people underestimate how much the right party supplies can add to a party. I know I did until I saw how ugly all that plain white looked in my backyard, which is really nice if I do say so myself. I am an avid gardener and I take great pride in my landscaping. So, for my second year, I decided I wanted to get nicer party supplies – specifically, I thought it would be nice to get some floral party supplies to go with my gardens. My neighbor had used this certain online party supply store on two different occasions I had attended recently. She used it once earlier this year to purchase birthday party supplies for her son’s Batman themed party and again just a couple of months ago to purchase baby shower party supplies for her sister’s shower. Each time I was impressed with the party supplies.
I was even more impressed when she told me all the supplies offered on this website are either discount party supplies and/or sold in bulk. With the amount of people I was expecting, bulk was music to my ears. The night of my neighbor’s baby shower, I checked said website and let me tell you, it is as fabulous as my neighbor claimed. I could not believe the selection of floral party supplies alone! I found this really wonderful and very classy collection called Gerbera Garden tableware party supplies in one of their many bulk sections. I knew instantly it would fit my backyard setting perfectly. This collection offered invitations too, which was an unexpected find.
I think this year’s picnic cemented the tradition. It was a great party – even better than last year is the word on the street. Everyone commented on the beautiful party supplies too. They looked fabulous, just as I had hoped!

If your kid is anything like my kid (and the rest of the kids in America), he is obsessed with the cartoon character Wall-E. (By the way, is it just me or does Wall-E bare a striking resemblance to Johnny 5, the robot in the movie “Short Circuit” circa 1980?) Since my son Anthony first saw the promo for the movie, he has talked of nothing else. Thank goodness the movie did not disappoint! I must say, Wall-E is incredibly adorable. It’s no wonder the kids love him.
Anthony turns six next week. Being my summer baby, his favorite thing is to have a pool party. Usually, we have it at my parents’ house because they have a pool in the backyard. This year I got Wall-E birthday party supplies for Anthony’s pool party. I’m a single mother, so I cannot afford to spend tons of money on the latest fad party supplies. Usually, these “of the moment” party supplies like Wall-E cost you an arm and a leg, especially if you purchase them through your local party supply store. That’s why I buy discount party supplies through a fabulous online party supply site I found a year ago. The selection is huge, first of all; some 60,000 party supplies. Second, the quality is good. Third, all of the supplies are either discount or sold in bulk or both. It’s a no-brainer in my book. I first heard of them when I was at my cousin’s baby shower. Her best friend had purchased all the baby shower party supplies through this online source. They were so cute and when she confided the total price to me, I couldn’t believe my ears.
For Anthony’s sixth birthday party, I got some great party supplies. Of course, there are the usual Wall-E plates, napkins, cups and table covers. I also got these cute Wall-E treat boxes for the party favors (boxes full of candy; the other mothers are going to love me), as well as these super cute Wall-E invitations and thank you cards. Plus, they had a Wall-E cake pan as well as candles and cake decorations and frosting so I will be able to make a Wall-E cake for Anthony. And there’s more! A Wall-E centerpiece, banner, and confetti; Wall-E kaleidoscopes and masks for game prizes; Wall-E stickers and tattoos for the boys to decorate themselves with; even a Wall-E party game similar in concept to pin the tail on the donkey. And, lest we forget, tons of Wall-E balloons.
I think Anthony is going to love his Wall-E pool party. And it didn’t break the bank either, which mommy loves.

I live in South Jersey right outside of Philadelphia. I’ve lived here all of my life. My parents have lived here all their lives. Both of their parents have also lived here all their lives. Needless to say we are Eagles fans. Two years ago I married a Giants fan. In case you’re not up on your football trivia, the Eagles and the Giants are arch rivals. Thank goodness my husband is so likeable otherwise this could have been a huge contention in my family. Last year, my husband convinced me to let him turn our basement into a “Guys” room. Being the Giants fan that he is, the room is of course covered in Giants paraphernalia. I thought my brother was going to have a heart attack the first time he laid on the “Guys” room.
Anyway, my husband is throwing a big kickoff party the first night the Giants play. He’s very excited about this party because it will be the first time he’ll really get to use his new pad the way he envisioned. My brother has somehow convinced me to play a practical joke on my husband and order Eagles party supplies rather than Giants party supplies for the party. I don’t know how I let him talk me into this. My husband is going to have my head. It will be funny, though, to see the look on his face. In case you’re wondering where to find party supplies like that, there’s this great online party supply store I stumbled upon when I was looking for baby shower party supplies for my friend Vanessa. They have a huge selection; something like 60,000 party supplies. For instance, they have party supplies dedicated to almost every team out there, so that’s great for me. And I’m not talking just simple, standard supplies. I’m talking banners, favors, centerpieces, stand alones, invitations too. Also, all their supplies are either discount party supplies or sold in bulk. I get all of my party supplies there now.
Well, it should be an interesting night! I’m going to keep away as much as possible. Wish me luck!

Next week I am throwing a baby shower for my good friend Vanessa. Her mom is hosting the party. It will be indoor/outdoor, weather permitting of course. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive about planning this baby shower. Vanessa’s mom can be very particular about these types of things and I was assigned to pick out and purchase all the party supplies. It’s funny because Vanessa herself couldn’t care less about that kind of stuff, so in that respect the pressure was off a bit. But nothing stresses Vanessa out more than when her mother is displeased about something especially when it pertains to Vanessa herself. I, too, am a little scared of Vanessa’s mom.
Recently, another friend of mine had thrown a birthday party for her sister and she had the coolest decorations I had ever seen. When I called her up and asked her where she had found them, she told me she had purchased all the birthday party supplies through an online party supply store. She also informed me that said website sold mostly discount party supplies and bulk party supplies, so it was very cost effective as well. Who could beat that? I decided to check it out.
The website did not disappoint. When I searched baby shower party supplies with the site’s search engine, I was directed to a page with over 50 baby shower party supply sub-categories or collections. There was so much to choose from I couldn’t believe it! I found the perfect supplies! They are the Baby Love collection (in pink because Vanessa’s having a girl) and they are simple and elegant, just as Vanessa’s mom likes. I got everything in the collection!
Of course, there were the usual napkins, cups, plates, and balloons, but I was also able to get the Baby Love centerpiece, confetti, banner, and favor bags. They also had Baby Love invitations and thank you cards. But, it gets even better. There was a Baby Love keepsake registry, a Baby Love game kit with four different games, Baby Love bingo and a Baby Love advice book. I got all bases covered in one single shot! It took me all of twenty minutes to choose and purchase said party supplies. Talk about brilliant!
Just the other day I brought over the baby shower party supplies to Vanessa’s mom’s house. I could tell by the look on her face that she was happy with what I got. What a load off! I’m in the clear!

So, I have this friend, Matt, who just left for a safari in Africa. He’s doing some crazy two-month thing there, traveling all over the continent. Actually, I am very happy for him. He’s been saving to do this for about three years now and he first started talking about the idea almost ten years ago. I know how important this journey is for Matt and I am proud of him for following through on his dream. I decided to throw him a going away/ bon voyage party the weekend before he left.
The party supplies I found for this party were nothing short of miraculous, let me tell you. I purchased all my supplies from this online party supply website I was turned on to while I was searching for birthday party supplies for my son’s first birthday. This website has something like 60,000 party supplies so I figured it was my best chance of finding African safari themed party supplies. Also, most of the supplies sold are either discount party supplies or they are sold in bulk, so it’s a great deal.
Anyway, not two minutes I’m on this site and I happen to check out the new releases and wouldn’t you know it? They had African voyage party supplies! I could not believe my eyes or my luck! I must admit, there wasn’t the biggest selection of African voyage party supplies, but I was able to round it out nicely with a “Bon Voyage” banner and some safari themed party supplies, of which they had a very large variety. For the final touch, I purchased some African music CDs for that night. Matt had a great time at his party. He was truly touched by the effort I had put into making his African safari party the best ever.
So, for all you out there in cyber space, take note. Party supplies are not what they used to be when you were limited to what you could find in your local party supply store. With the advent of the Internet, we now have access to party supplies of every shape, color, and theme you could imagine. (Well, almost. They’re working on the rest I’m sure.)

My daughter, Alicia, just came home from the hospital yesterday. She was in the hospital for seven days, which is a lot especially for a six year old. What happened was Alicia fell off our backyard fence and somehow managed to break her arm so bad she had to have a major three-hour surgery along with a week long hospital stay and a cast specifically designed for her. I will never forget the sight of my little girl coming round the side of the house, her left arm just swinging back and forth as if it was no longer attached to her body. I almost got sick it was so horrific. Poor Alicia had a hard time of it. Her screams of pain were so loud, the neighbors all the way down the block heard them.
Alicia loves flowers more than anything. Her favorite flower is the sunflower. She is my summer baby. I went out and got a ton of fresh sunflowers to put all around the house and in her room for when she came home. I made her favorite dinner and favorite dessert that night - homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on the cob, homemade strawberry shortcake for the dessert. I thought it would be neat to get special tableware for the occasion so I went to this party supply website I had discovered a couple of months ago when searching for birthday party supplies for my son, Thomas.
This online party supply store is really great. They have a huge selection and their supplies are discount party supplies and/or they are offered in bulk. Plus, their stuff is really cute and of good quality. Anyway, I used the site’s search engine and plugged in flowers. Wouldn’t you know it? They had sunflower party supplies! I was so happy! I would have settled for any type of flower, but this was so much better! The party supplies were so pretty, I got extra to keep around the house. I’ll do anything if I think it’ll cheer my baby up.
That night at dinner, I saw my daughter smile for the first time since she broke her arm. It brought tears to my eyes. She loved all the flowers and the plates/cups/napkins too! I could tell she knew she was loved.

Well, we’re getting down to it. Before you know it, it’ll be October and we’ll be smack dab in the middle of the 2008 World Series. I am a huge baseball fan, so this is a big deal for me every year no matter who plays. (Of course, I always want the Yankees, but that’s another story.) Every year for the past five years, I’ve thrown a World Series party, usually scheduled for game one. It’s a great way to kick off the series. My party has become a huge success, mostly because I serve good food and have a flat screen HDTV. I always like to go all out with the party, which is why it has become a tradition.
I have to admit, my World Series party didn’t start out a huge success. It was a good party, don’t get me wrong, but it just wasn’t festive enough, if that makes sense. My second year, I did some research. The essentials of any party are good food and drink. I had that. I figured what would really round out the whole affair would be the party supplies. That’s what really makes the party festive. I had a neighbor at the time that had recently told me she had purchased all her son’s birthday party supplies from a great online party supply store. She couldn’t remember the name of the site though, so I simply searched for party supplies and came upon a really wonderful resource that had a whole section devoted to baseball party supplies. Better yet, they had team specific party supplies. I couldn’t believe my luck, especially considering that all their supplies were either discount party supplies or available in bulk. That year (and every year since) I waited until I knew which two teams were in the World Series and then ordered supplies for those two teams. It was perfect! It really added something extra special to my World Series party. I can’t wait for this year’s party although I will be sad to see the season end. Go Yanks!

If you’ve got Olympic fever, then a great idea would be to throw an Olympic party. I have a friend who’s throwing one in a couple of days and it seems like it’ll be a hit. She is a swimmer and a huge Michael Phelps fan, so she is throwing one on the night of his last meet. She and her husband just got this great flat screen HDTV and awesome surround system too, so that’ll be perfect for watching the Olympics on.
The other day she told me about this website where she found all her Olympic party supplies. I was wondering where she was going to find those, but according to her this party supply website has an enormous amount of party supplies, most of them discount party supplies and/or available in bulk. They had a whole section devoted just to the Olympics. She got a combination of supplies pertaining to China, where the Olympics are being held this year, as well as to the USA, our home team.
I got a preview of the party supplies, and let me tell you, I was impressed. She got a bunch of American flags for guests to wave as well as a couple of trophy cups for the various quizzes/games she has planned. Plus, this really cool international flag centerpiece for the food table. For the Chinese decorations, she got these really cool red, black, and gold large hanging decorations that teach a little about Chinese culture as well as a couple of Chinese lanterns. She rounded out the whole affair with patriotic balloons as well as red, white, and blue cups/napkins/forks. Looking at all those great party supplies, I think it’s all going to come together very nicely.
When my friend told me the combined price of all her decorations I stopped dead in my tracks. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it all was! I have a baby shower to plan so now I know where I’ll be getting all my baby shower party supplies.

It’s the end of the summer and we will all be sad to see it go. Summer is my favorite season. This year, I’ve decided to throw a big luau party in my backyard to celebrate the summer and help it go out in style. My party is in two weeks. It’s all coming together very nicely. Just yesterday all my party supplies arrived that I purchased from this great online party supply store a friend turned me on to. I am very pleased with them. This website was fabulous. First, the selection was tremendous. The variety of birthday party supplies alone was impressive, never mind all the other types of party supplies.
For instance, they had casino party supplies, Olympics party supplies, patriotic party supplies, baby shower party supplies, just to name a few. In the birthday party supplies category, there were upwards of 150 sub-categories ranging from My Little Pony party supplies to safari party supplies to gymnastics party supplies to birthday “diva” party supplies. (By the way, most of these are discount party supplies and/or available in bulk.)
Needless to say, I had no trouble finding a wide variety of luau party supplies on this website. I’m planning on making a lot of wonderful frozen summer cocktails at my party, so I purchased these great pineapple cups in pink, blue, and yellow. For the beer drinkers, I got these drink hula skirts that you wrap around your beer bottle – so cute! I completed the drink ware with palm tree stirrers and a palm tree blow up cooler. So cool by the way.
For the appetizer trays, they had these neat “island attitude” shirt trays as well as palm tree trays and parrot trays. For the appetizer table itself, I got this awesome hula table skirt. They also had a number of luau party supplies the guests could wear like hula skirts, leis, and beads. Of course, I got the usual party supply fare – plates, napkins, etc – of which they had such a large variety I was able to mix and match and really make special. Best of all, they had two luau CDs with luau music! Talk about fabulous!
I am so excited for my end of the summer luau party! I think it’s going to be a hit. Who knows? Maybe it’ll even become a tradition!

My godson/nephew is obsessed with the Bee Movie. Truth be told, I love the Bee Movie too. It’s such a cute movie; Seinfeld is genius. My nephew Nathan has probably seen the movie two dozen times, if not more. It’s as if he doesn’t want to watch anything else! I can understand that. I used to do the same thing when I was a kid. If I really liked a movie, I would watch it non-stop. Same things with books I really liked. I had a few I must have read at least a dozen times.
Anyway, last weekend was Nathan’s fifth birthday party. We had a picnic style party in my sister’s backyard. We wanted to make it extra special for him because he is a little apprehensive about leaving nursery school and entering kindergarten in the fall. “I’m going to miss my friends,” he said to me the other day with this heartbreaking look in his eyes. Knowing how much he loves the Bee Movie, I thought I’d try to find some Bee Movie birthday party supplies. Within a couple of clicks, I landed on this awesome party supply website that boasted over 60,000 party supplies. They had every party supply you could possibly imagine – baby shower party supplies, luau party supplies, retirement party supplies, even movie night party supplies, and, yes, Bee Movie party supplies! In bulk! Talk about discount party supplies! They were so reasonably priced, I thought it was a scam. But, within a week of ordering them, the party supplies were delivered to my doorstep, safe and sound and fabulous!
Of course, I ordered the usual party fare: Bee Movie plates, cups, napkins and table covers. But I was also able to get things you wouldn’t expect. For instance, I got these super cute Bee Movie antenna headbands for the kids to wear instead of party hats. (The pictures from this party are priceless as you can imagine.) I also got great Bee Movie centerpieces and a banner. Plus, Bee Movie invitations, thank you cards, favors, stickers, confetti, even a piñata. Little Nathan loved his party. And later that night, while wearing his Bee Movie antenna headband and eating candy out of his Bee Movie treat bag, Nathan watched the Bee Movie for the umpteenth time.
